A National Certificate of Competency in Basic Scaffolding allows the certified scaffolder to build modular scaffold to 45 metres in height. It is an advantage for applicants to be working in the industry, but is not essential.

Course Content:
* How to erect, alter and dismantle scaffold correctly, safely and efficiently, in the correct sequence.
* How to read and understand suppliers information, general site plans and design drawings. This includes simple calculations of dead loads and live loads permissible on different ratings of scaffolding.
* A thorough knowledge of scaffolding equipment being used.
* A thorough knowledge of the construction methods.
* Being able to visually inspect scaffolding equipment for faults

Course Requirements:
100 points of Identification, appropriate clothing and covered shoes or boots, food and drink and sun protection.

Course Preparation:
A course booklet will be forwarded to participants on receipt of payment, which MUST be read and handed in at the start of the course for marking. If this is not done, extra time will need to be allocated for this purpose, which will incur an additional fee of $50. The Basic Scaffold Book of 16 chapters is to be completed by course end. Please allow for homework of
approximately 2 hours per night.

Course Outcome:
Upon successful completion participants will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and a licence issued by WorkCover NSW.

Note: Licence to erect, alter & dismantle Scaffolding - Basic Level tickets are valid for 5 years
